I for one can hardly wait for you to become a simple citizen again.You can be mad at me and even call me an “asshole”, like you did to that journalist (actually, please do it, but do it in public, so I end up with a few thousand visitors overnight ), but I want you back with the people. A simple citizen, with a house on Ştefan Mihăileanu street, with corruption case files in the works against you… a sort of slightly funny Adrian Năstase, that is really catchy for that part of the public that loves the circus.

By the way, when I saw that you and Adrian Năstase made it to the second round of the presidential elections… Well, I agreed with you when you said that it’s oh so sad that Romanians have to choose between two ex-Communists.

I found it really difficult deciding which one of you is the lesser evil (if you’d have made it with Vadim in the second round… you would’ve won by a landslide). I decided that Adrian Năstase was the lesser evil. Another 4881519 (four million eight hundred eighty-one thousand, five-hundred and nineteen) people agreed with me. However, more (about 250,000 more) thought differently and that’s how you became president. Congratulations.

Now please, please, come to terms with the fact that there is a reason why people read the job description before signing up for the job. You failed to read the Constitution (in 2004) and you thought that the President of Romania has the same powers as the President of the United States. Unfortunately for you, you were wrong. (Note to other candidates for the Romanian Presidency: Don’t be watching West Wing and believing that the rules that apply in the US also apply in Romania… - they’re different countries).
I think you’re a pretty good organizer and you could do a lot if you had the power to do it, but for the time being all you’re doing is breaking thinks by not playing by the rules. You want to do something from the position of President? Make it so that Romania becomes a presidential republic (and that would be great - that’s my political rectalist, ahem… political analyst opinion) or get a majority in Parliament and become Prime Minister.

But like this?… Please, please, please keep your word. Resign tomorrow (after you’re suspended, of course).

And, by the way, if you run again, I’m not voting for you. Why? Simple enough: because you broke the promise you made while Mayor of Bucharest, when you said you would not run for President and remain Mayor of Bucharest until 2008. Remember? Bravo!

PS: Please bring current Mayor Videanu back on the right path. Ever since we… “gave you a city council” (reference to your campaign for Bucharest Municipality General Council elections) nothing is getting done in Bucharest.

PPS: Wanna be more popular? Cancel those gazillion church visits and do something nice.

Eu unul abia aştept să redevii simplu cetăţean.

Poţi să te superi pe mine şi să mă numeşti şi pe mine “găozar” (chiar te rog, dar fă-o în public, să mă trezesc şi eu cu câteva mii de vizitatori brusc ), dar eu te vreau înapoi în popor. Simplu cetăţean, cu casă pe Ştefan Mihăileanu, cu dosare în lucru… un fel de Adrian Năstase uşor haios, cu priză la publicul dornic de circ.

Apropo, când am văzut că-n turul doi aţi ajuns tu şi cu Adrian Năstase… În fine, ţi-am dat dreptate când ai spus că e păcat că românii trebuie să aleagă între doi foşti comunişti.

M-am zbătut mult să decid care dintre voi doi e răul cel mai mic (dacă ai fi intrat cu Vadim în turul 2… ehe, ce frumos câştigai). Eu am decis că Adrian Năstase e răul mai mic. Alţi 4881519 (patru milioane opt sute optzeci şi unu de mii cinci sute nouăsprezece) au fost de acord cu mine. Mai mulţi au gândit altfel şi aşa ai ieşit tu preşedinte. Felicitări.

Acum înţelege că există un motiv pentru care oamenii citesc fişa postului înainte să fie OK cu un loc de muncă. Tu n-ai citit Constituţia (în 2004) şi ai crezut că Preşedintele României are puteri ca şi ale Preşedintelui SUA. Din păcate pentru tine, ai greşit. (Aviz candidaţilor la Preşedinţia României: A nu se privi West Wing şi crede că se aplică regulile din SUA în România…)
Eşti un relativ bun organizator şi ai putea face multe cu putere, dar momentan n-ai făcut nimic altceva decât să strici, nejucând după reguli. Vrei să faci ceva ca Preşedinte? Rezolvă să devină România republică prezidenţială (cum ar fi chiar bine, părerea mea de rectalist… pardon, analist politic) sau obţine majoritatea în Parlament şi devino Prim-Ministru.

Dar aşa?… Te rog frumos, ţine-te de cuvânt. Dă-ţi demisia mâine (după suspendare, desigur).

Şi apropo, dacă mai candidezi, eu nu te votez. De ce? Pentru că ţi-ai încălcat promisiunea făcută pe când erai Primarul Bucureştiului, când ai spus că nu vei candida la Preşedinţie şi că rămâi Primarul Bucureştiului până în 2008. Îţi mai aduci aminte? Bravo!

PS: Te rog să-l aduci pe Videanu pe calea cea bună. De când ţi-am… “dat un consiliu” (referinţă la campania ta pentru alegerile Consiliului General al Municipiului Bucureşti) nu se mai face nimic în Bucureşti.

PPS: Vrei să fii mai popular? Anulează jde-vizitele la biserici şi fă ceva drăguţ.

Vă spuneam aici de neruşinarea cu care mi-au luat bani degeaba.

Azi vă pot spune că mi-au dat banii pentru comisioanele de administrare înapoi (nu şi dobânda care mi-au luat-o - cel puţin nu încă), după ce am făcut plângere, desigur.

Şi, da, e foarte drăguţ faptul că au corectat o greşeală atunci când au fost atenţionaţi şi respect asta. Alţii nu ar fi corectat-o; dar nici nu ar fi trebuit să fi existat o asemenea greşeala.

Fortunately, Romanian education reform has been limited to effing… I’m sorry, causing confusion in all the generations of pupils and students over the past 17 years, using the “As many reforms as ministers” principle.

In the UK however, the Holocaust is slowly being erased, being taken out of history lessons and also out of the collective memory of future generations. Same goes for the crusades, because G-d forbid the version being taught in school be in conflict with the one taught in mosques or other meeting places for possible future Al Qaeda members.

Românilor nu le este frică de musulmani. În afară de câteva doamne în vârstă pe care le vezi la televizor spunând “aduceţi militarii acasă”, care nu prea ştiu ele ce se întâmplă în lumea reală pentru că oricum probabil nu prind decât TVR-ul şi se uită doar la “Surprize, surprize”, iar înainte de a le filma spunând aceste cuvinte reporterul le pregăteşte emoţional prostindu-le pe faţă (cu o nesimţire specifică).

Din fericire, reforma în educaţie s-a limitat în România doar la f… încurcarea tuturor generaţiilor de elevi şi studenţi din ultimii 17 ani, pe principiul “câţi miniştri, atâtea reforme”.

În Marea Britanie însă, Holocaustul este încetişor şters, fiind scos din lecţiile de istorie şi astfel şi din memoria colectivă a generaţiilor viitoare. La fel şi cruciadele, să nu cumva să fie în conflict versiunea spusă la şcoală cu cea spusă la moschee sau în alte locuri de discuţie pentru posibili viitori membri Al Qaeda.

Actually, not… I’m lying! And I have no reason why, because it’s not like I can actually slander a legal entity… and I don’t care that much anyway.

It’s what I was thinking just the other minute, when Electrica (Bucharest’s one and only electricity provider) was kind enough to turn off my power for 0.5 seconds. Lucky I have a UPS…

Note: the time before last when I had no power, the outage was 50 minutes long and the Electrica people that came to fix the power were standing outside the distribution station, reading the paper and smoking cigarettes (probably other colleagues were doing more work elsewhere, and they we just waiting around to push a button).

Update: 1h 10m later, Electrica was nice enough to repeat the feat. This time the outage was almost one second long. Yoda-style: Full of love for them I am!

Este ce s-a auzit adineaori de la un vecin.

De fapt, nu… Mint! Şi n-am de ce, pentru că nu pot calomnia o persoană juridică şi oricum nu prea mă interesează.

Este ce-am gândit adineaori, când Electrica a binevoit să-mi stingă lumina 0.5 secunde. Noroc cu UPS-ul…

Notă: penultima oară când nu am avut curent, pana a durat aproximativ 50 de minute iar cei de la Electrica care au venit să repare, stăteau în faţa staţiei de distribuţie, citeau ziarul şi fumau (probabil alţi colegi făceau mai multă muncă-n altă parte, ei aşteptau să apese vreun buton).

Update: 1h 10m mai târziu, Electrica a repetat minunea. De data asta a fost de aproape o secundă. Yoda: Plin de dragoste pentru ei eu sunt!
