That’s about the condescending answer I received years ago from Mr. Valer Dorneanu, if memory serves me right (I may mistake him for somebody else…), at an opening festivity for the academic new year where I, as a student, had asked him an, oh well, undesirable question.
Question: Mr. Dorneanu, considering that in 1948 the communists created a unicameral parliament with only a Chamber of Deputies - where persons at least 23 years old could be elected - with the purpose of replacing the “monarchists” with “young people that hadn’t been politically tainted”, how do you comment the fact that in 1990 Mr. Ion Iliescu supported the idea of a unicameral parliament with only a Senate - where only people over the age of 35 could be elected?
