Answer: “I advise you to look for a career outside the field of Politics”

That’s about the condescending answer I received years ago from Mr. Valer Dorneanu, if memory serves me right (I may mistake him for somebody else…), at an opening festivity for the academic new year where I, as a student, had asked him an, oh well, undesirable question.
Question: Mr. Dorneanu, considering that in 1948 the communists created a unicameral parliament with only a Chamber of Deputies – where persons at least 23 years old could be elected – with the purpose of replacing the “monarchists” with “young people that hadn’t been politically tainted”, how do you comment the fact that in 1990 Mr. Ion Iliescu supported the idea of a unicameral parliament with only a Senate – where only people over the age of 35 could be elected?

Cam aşa suna răspunsul condescendent pe care îl primeam acum destui de mulţi ani de la dl. Valer Dorneanu, dacă memoria mă serveşte bine (e posibil să-l confund…), la o festivitate de deschidere de an unde, ca student, îi adresasem o întrebare nedorită.
Întrebare: D-le profesor, având în vedere că în 1948 comuniştii au creat un parlament unicameral care avea doar o adunare a deputaţilor – persoane cu vârsta de cel puţin 23 de ani – cu scopul de a înlocui “monarhiştii” cu “tineri neîntinaţi politic”, cum comentaţi faptul că în 1990 dl. Ion Iliescu susţinea ideea unui parlament unicameral având doar Senat – persoane cu vârsta de cel puţin 35 de ani?

Ericsson is investing in a new Ericsson Global Service Delivery Center in Bucharest, and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology claims they will be hiring some 200 young graduates of specialized universities in a first phase…
Somebody please teach the people from these ministries to provide more info in their press releases. I’m so sick of PRs that are “good” only in that they mention the Minister’s name 7 times on 10 lines.

Ericsson se-apucă de o nouă investiţie în Bucureşti, Ericsson Global Service Delivery Center, iar MCTI susţine că ei vor angaja în primă fază 200 de tineri absolvenţi de facultăţi de profil…
Cineva să-i înveţe pe cei de la ministere să dea mai multe detalii în comunicatele de presă. Sunt sătul de comunicatele de presă “bune” prin faptul că spun de 7 ori numele ministrului în 10 rânduri.
