Apartment building Commies

Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

When you live in an apartment building in Romania you run into a lot of communists. Many are just too old to know anything else. However, I find it quite entertaining when my building super came to the door, armed with a flashlight, asking me:

- Can we go read the water meters?

- No, we can’t. I read them already and their indexes are on a piece of paper.

- But I wrote the “reading schedule” on the building billboard.

- Oh well, good for you, but no one comes into my house without my invitation or a warrant issued by a judge.

Thank you, Dan Voiculescu!

D.V., commenting on the death of the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, as seen on Antena 3:

We have lost another marker in the lack of morality.

I’m still ROFLMAO.

A Very Happy Vodafone!

Remember the storm that hit Bucharest last week?

Well, it apparently flooded the basement of the Vodafone store on Vasile Milea St., where old unsold cell phones no longer available in their stores because they were antiques were being stored.

Fortunately, all of them were insured at a value close to their initial value, so Vodafone will have suffered no losses and will free up a lot of capital once the insurance pays out.

Lucky them! My sick sick imagination is providing me with images of people opening garage doors widely, to let all the water in.
